Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Grand Finale "Neon Dawn" Live Event Scheduled — Countdown to UE6 Chapter 7 Begins

Epic Games officially schedules the 'Neon Dawn' live event for July 12, wrapping up Chapter 6 Season 3: Heist Protocol and setting the stage for the UE6-powered Chapter 7 launch on July 14.

Epic Games has officially confirmed the date for the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 grand finale live event, titled "Neon Dawn." Scheduled for July 12 at 2:00 PM ET, the event will bring an end to the Heist Protocol season and serve as the direct narrative bridge to Chapter 7: Neon City, which launches just two days later on July 14 powered by Unreal Engine 6.

The "Neon Dawn" event marks the conclusion of the Big Score heist storyline that has defined Chapter 6 Season 3 since its launch on May 21. According to Epic's official announcement, the event will feature a real-time in-game sequence where players witness the Zero Point's transformation — triggered by the events of the Big Score heist — fundamentally reshaping reality and giving birth to the neon-drenched cityscape that will become the Chapter 7 map. The event is expected to run approximately 10-12 minutes, though players are advised to log in at least 30 minutes early to secure their spot in the queue.

Epic has confirmed that players who attend the "Neon Dawn" live event will receive exclusive rewards, including the "Dawn Walker" loading screen, the "Neon Origin" wrap, and a limited-time "Zero Point Echo" back bling that changes color based on your in-game performance. These rewards will never be obtainable again after the event concludes, making attendance critical for collectors and completionists.

For competitive players, Chapter 6 Season 3's Big Score competitive playlist and Arena modes will remain active until the July 12 maintenance window begins approximately two hours before the event. Epic has confirmed that the Chapter 7 competitive season will launch on July 20, giving players a full week to explore the new map, learn the wall-running traversal system, and unlock the new Battle Pass before ranked play begins.

The "Neon Dawn" event also serves a dual purpose as the technical debut of UE6 in a live event capacity. Epic has described the event as a "stress test at scale" for the engine's neural rendering pipeline, which will be fully deployed when Chapter 7 goes live on July 14. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 will all experience the event simultaneously, though Switch 2 players will see a lower-fidelity version optimized for the handheld hardware.

With just 4 days until the finale event and 6 days until Chapter 7, Epic has also reminded players to complete any remaining Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass tiers and finish the Big Score heist challenges before they become inaccessible. The Season 3 Battle Pass — featuring the Kingpin outfit, vault-themed cosmetics, and the Heist Crew skin set — will be retired permanently when the maintenance begins on July 12.
