MW4 Beta Dates Confirmed: Early Access Starts July 10, Open Beta July 17

Infinity Ward officially announces the Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer beta schedule, with pre-order players getting early access and cross-play enabled throughout.

Infinity Ward has officially confirmed the beta schedule for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Early access for players who have pre-ordered the game begins on July 10, followed by an open beta starting July 17 across all platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.

The beta will feature a curated selection of multiplayer content designed to showcase the IW10 engine's capabilities. Players can expect to try out three core maps — a sprawling suburban environment called "Sunset Ridge," a close-quarters urban map set in a European city center named "Vanguard Square," and a remastered version of the classic MW2 map "Rust," reimagined with modern graphics and expanded sightlines.

Infinity Ward has confirmed that the beta will include access to the new Gunsmith 2.0 system, allowing players to customize weapon attachments with unprecedented depth. The IW10 engine also powers the new "Omnimovement" system — a fully directional movement system that lets players sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, including backward and sideways, fundamentally changing the flow of gunfights.

The beta will also showcase the new multiplayer perk system, which moves away from the traditional three-perk format to a more flexible "Card" system that allows for greater build variety. A new Killstreak system called "Tactical Assets" replaces standard killstreaks with deployable equipment that teams can call in collectively, encouraging more coordinated play.

Players who participate in the beta will earn exclusive cosmetic rewards that carry over to the full game at launch later this year. Pre-orders are available now across all platforms.
